SETTING UP HANDS AND ALLOCATION OF POINTS

We know several card counting strategies. Differences between them result from the composition of hands and the distribution of points allocated to them which aim to optimize the efficiency of strategies, however, their operating principle is the same. The card number of plus or minus hands and their allocated points are always composed of a fifty-fifty percent distribution (except for unbalanced systems), and the percentage values of the distribution of RC result from their differentiation. The principle of the composition of hands in the strategy is their effect on results between 12-16. Based on this, cards in the deck are divided into hands according to their value and we need to allocate plus, minus or zero values to the hands. In this case it is as follows:

Neutral:

A, 2, 8

0

12 pcs
Small:

3, 4, 5, 6, 7

+1

20 pcs

Big:

9, T

-1

20 pcs

We will use this card counting system as an example below.

The principle of the hand with a minus value is that is results in a bust for values exceeding 12.

COUNTING HANDS
We count all 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 cards in a hand as plus 1 and all 9, 10, J, Q and K as minus 1. We don't count the hand with a value of zero (A, 2, 8). Counting the hands with a plus or minus value involves adding or subtracting in accordance with their sign and value.

Clearly, if we accurately count the cards in a deck, the total must be zero because a deck contains 20 hands with a plus value and 20 with minus. Counting, in practice, is based on following the process and order of dealing cards.

BASIC IDEA OF THE STRATEGY
Counting the dealt cards you can find out the results derived from the ratios of the remaining card groups compared to each other. You need it, because your percentile advantage or disadvantage over the dealer in the given situation is determined by this. Based on this you will be able to decide what to do with your cards (hit, stand, double, split, insurance, surrender) in cases deviating from the basic strategy. And something, which is maybe more important than this, the right size of your bet in the given situation.
If the result of the card counting is such that there are among the remaining ones many cards with minus sign then the player has an advantage over the bank. The dealer must hit on his/her hands with 12-16 and so the number of busts will increase and the number of hands with 17-21 will decrease. Of course this trend is true in reversed cases as well. If there are more remaining cards of small value, i.e. cards with positive sign then the dealer will have fewer busts, the rate of hands with 17-21 will increase and the player will be at a disadvantage.
