Shoe: The cards are dealt from this device.
RC (Running Count): The value of the running card counting, the rolling sum of values assigned to the cards since the last shuffling. It is refreshed after every shuffle. We can also speak about RC in the time of betting that relates to the moment before shuffling.
TC (True Count): The exact value of card counting. It shows the real advantage independently of the shuffled card number. Calculation: RC divided by the number of the decks in the shoe.
Balanced Count System: Balanced card counting system in which the sum of the values (weights) assigned to the cards is 0.
Unbalanced Count System: The sum of the weights assigned to the cards is not 0.
Betting System: system of laying bets.
Bankroll: The total amount of money you take to the casino with you and that is allocated completely to the game.
Unit Bet: By shuffling it always means a bet of $1, it is used mainly in theoretical calculations.
Flat Bet: Similar to the Unit Bet. The difference is that your bet is always 1 chip of the same value (e.g. always $25). With other words this is a game without changing the bet.
Advantage Proportional Bet: Your bet is proportional to your momentary advantage and also to the TC, because the TC indicates your advantage.
Fixed Size Betting: The prevailing basic bet is a fixed value. Let us say that your basic bet is $25 and in various situations (TC values) you use multiple ones of this.
Variable Size Betting: You define your prevailing basic bet based on your momentary bankroll. This means that your basic bet will also change in the course of the game.
Proportional Kelly Betting: Bet increasing and definition of a basic bet on the basis of Kelly's theory: Your bet is f percent of your momentary bankroll, where f = your momentary advantage divided by the variance. By this method you can achieve an optimum bankroll increasing pace. It is to be remarked that in the case of the Blackjack game Kelly's betting system is only an approach because it does not take into consideration precisely the wide bet-scale of Blackjack (split, doubling) and the different payouts (win=1:1, Blackjack=3:2).
